This 1950's cape cod formal living room needed a shift in proportions. We removed the drywall ceiling and exposed the beams underneath. After paining them white, expertly adding blocking and crown molding and lighting the room opened up, chilled out and felt more cottagey and casual like we intended. The extra ceiling height and texture went a long way to give this room the feeling intended
